Belle Cooledge Community Library was established in 1958, and was originally located at 5581 Freeport Blvd. We moved into our new 12,000 square-foot facility at the corner of Fruitridge and South Land Park Drive in 1992. In 2010, the library underwent a remodel, providing an organic, spacious, and colorful look to our busy library.
Our children's area features organic forms, bright colors, and comfortable seating for parents. The teen area boasts cafe-style seating - a true gathering spot for young adults. In the adult area, tall shelving encloses a quiet reading space equipped with comfortable chairs.
Belle Cooledge has a free meeting room for community-based organizations.
We serve the Land Park, Greenhaven and Pocket areas. We are part of a family-oriented complex that includes a community center and a children's park/playground.
Belle Cooledge is a delightfully active library with an annual circulation over 400,000. Our community is tremendously supportive. We are proud to have over 900 Affiliate Friends of the Library members. The Friends operate a small bookstore at the branch during open hours. The proceeds are used for library programs and materials.
We are a warm inviting and helpful neighborhood library, with a staff committed to providing excellent library service.
