    OMCA Family: Gold Panning

    Gold fever is here at OMCA! Discover what life was like in the California Gold Rush days. Come and try your hand at panning for real gold, Forty-Niner style, in the Museum gardens. Learn how to tell the difference between real gold and fool’s gold and keep all you find! Included with Museum admission. After 5 pm, gallery admission is half-price for adults, free ages 18 and under. Free to OMCA Members.

    Friday Nights @ OMCA: Gallery of California Natural Sciences Reopening

    Take a walk on the wild side at OMCA’s reopening of the Gallery of California Natural Sciences, during Friday Nights @ OMCA! The galleries are open ‘til midnight, and the Gallery of California Natural Sciences reopens to the public with a grand ceremony at 7 pm. Join the foodie festivities with Off the Grid’s food trucks on 10th Street. Enjoy California beer and wine at bars throughout the Museum. Have a roaring good time with animal face-painting, and dress up as your favorite California animal and strut your stuff in our costume contest! Rock out retro California style with tunes from DJs and surf bands.
